New NRC Testing Available for K-13 & SonaSpray “fc”

ASTM C 423

ICC has new NRC testing available for K-13 and SonaSpray “fc”! The Noise Reduction Coefficient or NRC represents the amount of sound energy absorbed upon striking a particular surface. This is an important measurement to consider when designing an open space that will have acoustical obstacles.
Absorptive materials such as K-13 and SonaSpray “fc” reduce the volume of noise reflected back into a space, the length of time they last, and the distance over which they travel. The amount of absorption in a room is generally indicated by the Reverberation Time (RT) measured within the space. Attaining a low RT is essential to reducing the room’s echo or ‘liveliness.’

Our patented water-based adhesive adheres to virtually any properly prepared substrate and ceiling configuration including metal deck, barrel-vaults, concrete "T" corrugated decks, gypsum, wood, concrete, and other complex surfaces. Surfaces to receive K-13 are to be inspected prior to installation to determine if pre-treatment is required.
